Angelina Jolie portrait color by mach5 Angelina Jolie portrait color by mach5
Colorized in about 2.5 hours. I (heart) photoshop.

Here's the original, for reference.

I like your use of photoshop levels on the pencil drawing, it makes it look like colored pencil.

Thank you. I really like adding that digital touch to an otherwise B&W drawing, it gives it a depth that I simply can't achieve with greyscale alone. Others with far more talent than I have no trouble, but I need that eye candy to enhance my work still. heehee.

How have I not seen your stuff before? This is a great piece.

You've perfectly captured Angelina Jolie. The only issue I can think to raise is that she's, perhaps, too washed out. But the reference photo could've been like that.

I did a little bit of that on purpose. I just didn't want to ruin the nose by doing too much detail on the transition to her right cheek. I got lazy.

And trust me, there's plenty who haven't seen my stuff here. You're not alone. Not like I'm some lost jewel or something, but I like to think I'm pretty okay. :)

Thanks for the kind words!

All my other fingers in drawings look like sausages, so I was REALLY happy how those turned out. Thanks for the feedback!

Nope, this was just a colorization of the pencil piece. Once I scanned it into photoshop, I just sorta painted color over it.

And thank you. This is probably the first piece I'd seen any progress on in a year. I think I might have to pick up some books on shading and detail work and do some exercises, because I think that's where I'm severely lacking now.
